The various HO groups are always looking for new volunteers who are keen to make a difference in the field of conservation in KZN.

Prospective members should complete the “Contact Us” form on our website and your details will be forwarded to the relevant group to make contact with you. Once contacted by the relevant group, the prospective member will be asked to attend an interview with the group committee to discuss your interests and determine how you are able to contribute to the group.

Upon completion of the interview, you will be required to fill in the relevant application forms and pay a non-refundable deposit. Thereafter, you will be required to serve a minimum of 6 month probation period during which time you will work with the group members in their various activities. During the probation period, you will be required to attend a 3-4 hour induction course, which will give you a more in-depth understanding of how the Honorary Officers operate within EKZNW.

Once your probation period is completed and you confirm that you wish to continue as a member of the group, your application will be forwarded to Central Office for processing and printing of your ID Card and Name Badge to complete your appointment as an Honorary Officer.

Honorary Officer’s work is entirely voluntary and HO’s are required to purchase their own uniform from the approved uniform supplier.
