REGIONS & GROUPS – Connecting Conservation Across KZN

As of March 2023, Ezemvelo HOs has undergone a significant transformation. Recognizing the need for closer alignment with Ezemvelo’s operations and the growing diversity of our groups, we expanded our regional presence from three to four distinct regions within KwaZulu-Natal.

By operating in multiple regions, each overseen by a Regional Committee, we are better positioned to serve the unique needs of our local communities and the distinct ecological challenges faced across KwaZulu-Natal.

In previous years, the Honorary Officers in coastal regions were actively engaged in both marine and terrestrial conservation activities. However, changes in marine legislative structures, which came into effect a few years ago, saw the marine-focused groups amalgamated with the terrestrial groups. While our commitment to marine conservation remains steadfast, our approach has adapted to these new circumstances.
